Ran a disk repair again, and rebooted. This time making sure to just let it boot from the HDD. The white loading screen with the grey Apple logo appeared. There was a loading bar. The bar vanished. There were some grey swirly thinking things.and then black. My system sent my monitor into standby mode.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION! These mods have been tested, BUT I take no responsibility for how you use the mods and what happens to the card. Make sure the cooling is sufficient etc. The soldering order is crucial, make sure it's done exactly as the images show. And no, the 480 would not work with OSX, so even IF the 480 worked when booting into Win7, you would have to swap the card out every time you used OSX. The same thing happened with the loading screen and then black. I THEN tried to boot through UniBeast like the beginning of the installprocedure. The EXACT same thing happened again.

I found this info: It seems like the ROM is set to run the fans at a lower speed. Maybe someone with an original card can confirm this. I'll mostly be using it with Logic Pro 9/X and Ableton, so graphics isn't really what I need most, but there will be some work in Blender and AutoDesk, so having a fast graphics card will definitely help.

Actual BIOS files do not contain any separate AHCI ROM module, because such BIOS module resp. Firmware is not required anymore. The Intel SATA AHCI Controller of the mainboard is not supported at all by the RAID ROM module. That is the reason why users with an AHCI (non-RAID) system will not benefit from an update of the RAID ROM version.

Similarly, with CF or SLI, its very difficult for the higher-end parts to keep ahead of the price and performance options that multi-GPU offer from lower-end parts. Performance per watt in this range of parts isn't hugely useful either imo, its been this way for some time, high-end graphics cards consume a lot of power. There's no panacea that's going to fix this, if a card is in the upper tier of performance for its time its probably going to consume a similar amount of power to its predecessors. This only changes as newer processes and faster parts are introduced, where they typically outperform older parts in the same segment using similar power, or slightly less. I personally prefer comparisons to be made based on performance, then you can do a lateral comparison of price and power consumption within that performance segment. Without this, the startup bar froze halfway through loading into OS X, so this is a necessary step.
